Canal Fest is an annual day of music, food, and fun along the streets of historic South Chesapeake City, Md., and on the water of the Back Creek mooring basin just off the C&D Canal. Craft vendors, food, music and family fun!  Children’s area, games, face painting, and more.

Art and Chocolate on a summer day at the winery.  The Art Show will feature The Artsy Girls Guild – A dozen artists who have all types of media to exhibit: oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, gourds, felted animals, mixed media collage, jewelry.  Visit their Facebook page to see some of their work.  Chocolates by The Perfect Truffle of Federick, MD.  Samples and sales inside the tasting room.  Food will be available for purchase from Beer Buddie Chili and BBQ.  On Saturday, watch Vintage Style base ball as the Elkton Eclipse battle Diamond State BBC of Delaware.  Base Ball starts at 1pm and matches last all afternoon.  On Sunday, the Art Show continues with live music by California Bob from 2-4pm.

Mount Harmon is a scenic and historic treasure.  One of the best times to visit Mount Harmon and experience its colonial history and plantation hospitality is at the annual Colonial Picnic.  The Picnic features Colonial Reenactors and demonstrations, a gourmet Eastern Shore picnic, Manor House tours, silent auction, and plantation wagon rides.  Proceeds benefit Mount Harmon Plantation.  Adults $35, children 12 and under $10.

A celebration of everyone who has been touched by cancer.  It is a team fundraising event where we celebrate survivors, remember lost loved ones and plead to fight back against cancer.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. Relayers do not have to walk all night, but each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.

Memorial Day Parade and Elkton’s 225th Anniversary!

Starting at 10am on May 28th, 2012, Elkton is hosting their annual Memorial Day Parade in the downtown area.  Come join the fun and excitement while we celebrate the 225th Anniversary of this historic town. A parade to pay tribute to all Servicemen, Women, and all Veterans, both past and present.  In addition, the town’s history will be highlighted as well.

Enjoy a day of great food, trade and craft fair, family fun in the Kids Korner, exciting races, and pari-mutuel wagering.  Traditionally, gentlemen would place wagers on the races. This tradition continues today at Fair Hill, the only steeplechase race in America that offers pari-mutuel wagering.  The Fair Hill Races are held every May and all proceeds from the Fair Hill Races benefit Union Hospital.
